Thoughts to ponder...

Was your pension benefit terminated or frozen?

Did you loose your pension or pension growth from Motorola / Freescale?

Did you work as hard as the CPBs, (Corporate Butt Pilots) or possibly harder?

Why would Chris Galvin walk away with a pension of about $41.3 million when your pension was terminated?

Do you remember this rhetoric?
Reassurances of "the highest business ethics, uncompromising integrity and constant respect for people."

Do you remember Motorola preaching ethics - The 4 E's plus always one.

Motorola's values are commonly known as the “4 E's Plus Always One” Leadership Standards: Envision, Energize, Edge, Execute, plus always Ethics.

The following is a quote from a Chris Galvin memo dated February 18, 2000:

"Motorola's leaders will be expected to:
eNVISION;
eNERGIZE;
(have) eDGE
eXECUTE;
and
(always support) Ethics

I will be explaining more about our leadership model in the coming weeks.  Note that the 4 e's of this model will be depicted in the small, dynamic e's of the "e-Business" world indicating the speed with which we must lead and change.  The "always 1 E," is Ethics--which means that we always behave with the highest integrity and dignity and respect for people.  Some things Motorola shouldn't and won't change.  Our leadership and every Motorolan must always support and follow our Code of Business Conduct.

Overall, Motorola's leaders promised ourselves this week that we will continue to change everything in Motorola, with the exception of our Ethics, principles and character."

What does “we always behave with the highest integrity and dignity and respect for people" mean to you?

Do you feel you were treated with dignity and respect with regard to your pension?

Was your pension terminated because Motorola "spun off" it’s Semiconductor Products Sector?

What does “spun off” or “spin off” mean to you?

There were no buyers willing to buy the Semiconductor Products Sector outright.

Wasn’t the Semiconductor Products Sector, in a sense, dumped?

In the process of spinning off the Semiconductor Products Sector, didn’t Motorola relieve themselves of future pension liabilities?

In the process of spinning off the Semiconductor Products Sector, did Motorola relieve itself of it’s responsibilities and liabilities regarding the 52nd Street Superfund site in Phoenix, Arizona?

Do you know who currently has ownership of the 52nd Street SPS Superfund site liability?

Do you think one owner might be Freescale Semiconductor?

Quotes from Motorola's Ethics & Code of Business Conduct page:

"Key Beliefs
Our key beliefs define who we are as individuals and as a company - to each other, our customers, our shareholders, our suppliers, our competitors and our communities."

"Uncompromising integrity means staying true to what we believe. We adhere to honesty, fairness and doing the right thing without compromise, even when circumstances make it difficult."

"Constant respect for people means we treat everyone with dignity, as we would like to be treated ourselves. Constant respect applies to every individual we interact with around the world."

Do you feel Motorola lives by their words, or are their words - "words without meaning?"

The following is an interesting statement to take note of as CEOs walk away with fat greedy pensions while loyal long-term employee's pensions were cut short of maturing to the pension that long-time employees (Galvanized service club members) were once promised.

"doing the right thing without compromise, even when circumstances make it difficult."
