Motorola dumped (or in their words "spun off") its Semiconductor Products Sector - SPS,
which became Freescale Semiconductor who has plants in Chandler and Tempe, Arizona.
This old Motorola 75 acre wafer manufacturing site was home of multiple fabs
MOS 5, MOS 6 and the Bipolar Manufacturing Center (BMC).
The plant, located at Broadway and Dobson in Mesa Arizona was sold.
Demolition of this facility is complete.

The for sale sign for this property went up days before Motorola
removed the SPS sign - poor planning as usual.

The east end of the property borders Dobson road.
I suspect a seed fell as CG bailed with his golden parachute.
Three weeks later (August 15, 2005) the little plant has grown up a bit.

The air was thick with smog.
The area along this fence was cleaned up.
All weeds and trash were removed
except one lonely weed growing by itself - July 27, 2005.

Someone harvested part of the plant just before it started budding.
The plant was there September 4, and disappeared
some time before October 20th.
